La LEIV contempla una serie de reglas que tienen como objetivo promover el cumplimiento de principios como el de seguridad jurídica, de igualdad ante la ley, de equidad, y así asegurarles, a las mujeres que enfrentan violencia, el desarrollo de un debido proceso y evitar que en los procesos, tanto judiciales como administrativos, se vulneren sus derechos.
